Cypriot image maker and video artist Nepheli, grew up in the only city in Europe still divided by a wall, Nicosia. Drawing influence  largely from the geographical, topographical, and sociopolitical character of the island, she photographs both curated and accidental still lives, that embody the physical and cultural landscape of her home country. Focusing on miscellaneous studies of the female form: its use, and mild abuse; Nepheli utilises and situates the female body within a national context to create a feminist reading of the status and representation of "woman" within Cyprus. Through documenting and crafting metaphors via the juxtaposition of imagery containing certain archetypal symbolism, Nepheli creates a poetic rendering of her own narrative landscape.
